about this episode

Living through trauma, we often get so lost in the process that we think there’s no hope.

Being intimately familiar with that feeling herself, Sarah Brassard believes that doing the work daily will keep you moving on the path of healing and that consistency is key to taking it to the next level.

Sarah believes in a holistic approach to healing, centered on the interconnection between the body, the mind, and the spirit – something we disconnect from when we experience trauma.

Sarah’s work in trauma recovery is so important, and I totally resonate with the way she teaches and her message. I hope this conversation will give you some hope that you can be okay and know that you don’t need to go on this journey alone.

I highly recommend attending Sarah’s free Trauma Recovery Summit – it will be a great place for you to start on the path to taking yourself to another level of healing.

Her work is ignited by an enthusiastic dedication to integrating body, mind, heart, and spirit, as well as an unshakeable conviction that there’s nothing in life that can’t be healed.

key highlights

The spiritual impact of trauma

“Trauma is that experience that we take in that doesn’t go out.” – Sarah Brassard

Sarah spent much of her younger life putting on a facade to show the world that everything was great when it was anything but.
Her mother left when she was 13, and just three years later, her father died. When these things happened energetically, it felt like she left because it no longer felt safe.

When we have these experiences, a part of our healing has to be around getting that energetic element back in our lives. You simply can’t do the work of your life when your energy is elsewhere.

To get there, we must welcome the difficult feelings and parts of ourselves that come out to be healed rather than numbing ourselves to create separation from the original wound.

Observation, recognition, and release

A big part of Susan’s work is about helping people tune in and listen to the messages their body sends.

Being able to step back and look at our lives from an objective point of view, creates a lot more opportunities for growth and learning.

Moving through her trauma has taken Susan from a place of being triggered to being able to observe and release. It allows her a level of peace she never experienced before.

“Instead of enormous triggers that were obstacles that got in my way, now my trauma is a red flag. It signals that here’s one of those tender places that need extra attention.” – Sarah Brassard

Getting to that point is a work in progress, not the first step in your journey.
