surviving the holidays

For most of us, the holidays bring an incredible amount of stress. Difficult family dynamics are one of the biggest triggers for people in recovery.

And the increased pressure of the holiday season can amplify these problematic relationships.

This workshop will help prepare you to get through the holidays sober despite family members who seem determined to make things hard for you at every turn. Leave the workshop feeling empowered rather than dreading the holidays with family.

Led by Veronica Valli and Chip Somers, psychotherapists and Soberful Life recovery coaches with five decades of combined experience and sobriety under their belts.

This workshop has completed.

But don't worry -- you can still access this FREE exclusive workshop! All you need to do is join Soberful Life, our online sobriety program. Compliments from our members

The Soberful Life group has re-energized my recovery and given me new tools and a new perspective! I can’t believe how much I’ve gotten out of only a month of membership. Having Veronica to guide us and share her expertise, while also bringing in amazing experts to help with other topics, all in a space where I feel safe to share with other women dedicated to their recovery… is priceless.”

— Jane C.

I don’t always have the time in my schedule to go to a meeting, or to go to therapy, but at any moment of the day, I can come on to Soberful Life for Veronica’s [and Chip’s] wisdom and talk with people who are sharing my experiences. It’s like the best 12-step meeting AND therapy TOGETHER anytime I want it.

— Melissa

"The key to staying sober is here. I’ve tried so many times to stop and until I found these people, this connection, my tribe, I couldn’t do it. Not alone. I feel seen and heard and understood. These people are my people and I wouldn’t want to do this without them.

Come to the meetings, you will find peace and acceptance and understanding like you never thought possible. This is hard work but we can do hard things."

I am so impressed with you and your program. Being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 40 years (mostly retired now...), I have seen so much in the recovery field and the treatment field. As a subject matter expert, I have been in your (and Chip's, and Tamara's) shoes, providing lectures and workshops and the such. AND, on the other side of the tracks, I also have been a functional drug abuser...then later alcohol abuser for most of my life.

Veronica, I mean it when I say your program is second to none. You are a brilliant and compassionate leader and healer. Your program is tight and well thought out. And your treatment style is so comfortable yet very serious, insightful and top-of-the-line professional. You have tremendous healing colleagues in Chip, Tamara, and Louise. I admire your energy and passion for what you do.

I wanted to just step back and let you know how safe and confident I feel in your program. It is nice for me to now take my psychotherapeutic eyepieces off and let someone I trust take care of me. I trust you, Chip, Tamara & Louise...and all of the Soberful members who take their risks every day under the safe umbrella of your Soberful program."

Today marks 3 years of sobriety for me! I found the Soberful Life group about a year ago and it has helped me grow so much into a truly soberFUL life. At the time I was happy to be sober but knew there was more I was missing, and I found it in this group.

All of the workshops, shared experiences, and encouragement have helped me stretch and grow into a fuller, brighter sober life. I’ve connected with people and I really appreciate the recovery groups and support and feedback I’ve received.

I can’t believe the amount of value we receive, it’s like having a sober coach to walk us through all of these different topics and challenges that you don’t think about but we all experience.

I’m so grateful to have found Soberful Life during my own sober journey!

—Jane, 43

I’m in my third year of sobriety and Soberful Life has been critical to my journey.

A huge amount of content: workshops, Q&As, regular guest speakers, and the ability to interact live with Veronica and Chip in online group recovery meetings.

It’s absolutely incredible value. A month’s membership for what I used to spend on a bottle of wine.

Veronica and Chip understand the struggle because they’ve been there. They are both in long-term recovery and both extremely experienced as they have worked for decades in the recovery field.

Long(er) term sobriety is about so much more than quitting drinking, it’s a complete mindset change, and Veronica and Chip will (gently) get you there.

She has been in recovery for 20 years and has been working as a recovery coach and therapist for 18 years.

Veronica passionately believes that anyone can recover from alcohol if they are given the right tools and support. She has personally helped thousands of women transform their lives. Veronica believes that alcohol is only a symptom of a deeper underlying problem, and that to recover, thrive and become the women we are truly meant to be, we need to embrace the process of change.

Now based in the USA, she works with women all over the world through her online programs, Facebook groups and one-on-one or group coaching. Veronica is married and lives on Long Island with her husband and two sons.

Chip Somers is a successful psychotherapist with a practice in Harley Street, London. He has run several rehabilitation centers throughout his 34-year career. Chip has been instrumental in many people's recovery from alcohol and drug abuse. In particular, Russell Brand dedicates a whole chapter to Chip in his new book Mentors: How to Help and Be Helped. Chip is married with two adult children. He has been continuously sober since 1985.

Tiffany North is an intuitive eating coach and a registered nurse who healed her own relationship with food and then went on to coach clients to do the same. Intuitive eating is not a diet. It is a way of relating to food and your body that supports you and brings back joy, balance, and satisfaction with food. Tiffany leads monthly intuitive coaching sessions inside Soberful Life.

Tamara Kirby has helped hundreds of people recover from active addiction as a licensed addictions counselor and international certified drug and alcohol counselor. She uses her own recovery as well as her clinical skills and education to lead the path in stigma reduction, raise community awareness, and educate businesses. "Celebrating 8 Months Today! The early days of sobriety were easier than I expected. But then I realized being sober was about a lot more than "not drinking."

I am so glad to be here, taking the next step in my recovery. Working on processing emotions, letting go of codependency, and balance. I am looking forward to learning to cope with all of the things that kept me drinking for 10 years. The workshops this week have been great!

I am heading on to 9 months and looking forward to accomplishing my first year."

"Yesterday, I hit one year sober! I honestly can hardly believe I have made it this far. My daughters are so proud of me, which makes it all worthwhile.

I have been struggling for the past few days, wondering why I am doing this, wishing I didn't have to do this, missing drinking, etc. But I now realise that I get these 'down times' occasionally, and I just have to wait for it to pass. And it does, always! I am now feeling more hopeful and generally happier.

This [group] has been a wonderful support."

— Soberful Life member

“If it’s possible to truly “enjoy” a site such as this—this is the one! I have felt welcomed from day one. I don’t visit as often as I should, but when I do, I feel welcomed, not judged, and like I fit in.”
